Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) celebrated the First World Halal Standards day with a special event held in Karaj. The event aimed to highlight the importance of global halal standards in ensuring the quality and authenticity of halal products.
During the event, the Secretary General of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT, delivered a special message emphasizing the significance of harmonizing halal standards across the Muslim world. He emphasized “the significance of 17th May as the "World Halal Standards Day" which is an opportunity to all SMIIC Members to promote OIC/SMIIC Halal Standards for the global Halal Industry, addressing to possible key relevant stakeholders that would contribute to the promotion of the OIC/SMIIC Halal Standards nationally and internationally.”
Mr. ÖVÜT also praised the efforts of the INSO in promoting halal standards within Iran and congratulated the organization on their commitment to advancing the halal industry. He urged all stakeholders to work together towards achieving a unified halal standard that is accepted and recognized globally.
Ayatollah Ali Akbar Rashad, Head of Research Institute for Islamic Culture and Thought, the founder and head of the Islamic Culture and Thought Center, the founder and head of the seminary of Imam Reza (AS), said that: “If we are committed to advancing civilization, it is essential to adhere to high standards.
At the conference's conclusion, Ayatollah Rashad and Dr. Eslampanah, the INSO president, unveiled the Islamic Republic of Iran's halal products certification scheme.
The inauguration of the Reference Halal Laboratory was a part of this event. The ceremony was attended by experts in Halal and standardization, diplomatic officials, and specialists in INSO.
