INSO celebrates the World Standards Day 2024 The commemoration of World Standards Day took place on Monday, October 15, 2024.
The commemoration of World Standards Day took place on Monday, October 15, at the meeting hall of the Iran International Conference Center, attended by high-ranking officials, Ambassadors and representatives of foreign countries, economic leaders, and industry representatives.
Dr. Mahdi Islampanah, the INSO president, emphasized the organization’s transformation efforts to elevate Iran’s standardization system on international, regional, and national levels. He highlighted initiatives aimed at empowering youth and increasing women's representation in leadership roles, while streamlining processes to enhance transparency.
Dr. Eslampanah noted that Iran National Standards Organization has improved its ranking within the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) from 26th to 20th out of 168 countries, and plans to continue this upward trend. Achievements during this period include participation in 702 specialized committees and significant input on international standards drafts.
INSO has also prioritized standards in everyday products, such as clothing, stationery, baby cloths and fabrics and mandated safety protocols for vehicles, showing a commitment to public welfare and transparency. INSO president stated that these accomplishments were achieved with minimal resources, driven by patriotism and determination, despite acknowledging some shortcomings.
