As part of the official visit of Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the Honorable President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to Pakistan, on Sunday, August 4, high-ranking officials of the two countries signed 12 cooperation documents in various fields following a joint meeting aimed at facilitating and expanding bilateral relations.
The joint meeting of the high-level delegations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, chaired by Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, and Mr. Shahbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, was held at the Prime Minister's House in Islamabad. The signed documents provide a framework for knowledge exchange, enhancement of trade capacities, strengthening mtual ties, and regional synergy between the two nations.
According to the INSO International Affairs Bureau, the Implementation Program on MOU between Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) and Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) on Recognition of Product Certification, Inspection and Testing was among the most significant documents signed. This program aims to establish mutual recognition of product certification, inspection, and test results between the two countries. The document was signed by H.E. Mr. Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, Honorable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, and Mr. Khalid Hussain, Minister of Science and Technology of Pakistan.
It is noteworthy that this Implementation Program was developed in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between INSO and PSQCA in April 2024, with the objective of operationalizing its provisions in the fields of standardization, conformity assessment, inspection, testing, trade facilitation, and mutual market access.
