Iran and India agreed to deepen cooperation in standardization and conformity assessment during bilateral talks held on the sidelines of the Meeting of Heads of BRICS National Standardization Bodies.
The meeting, led by Dr. Farzaneh Ansari, President of the Iran National Standards Organization (INSO), and Sanjay Garg, Director General of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), focused on expanding collaboration in artificial intelligence, renewable energy, automotive standards, conformity assessment, and international standardization.
The two sides also reviewed a draft memorandum of understanding and agreed to expedite its finalization, while promoting expert exchanges, joint training, and technical cooperation through ISO and IEC activities.
The discussions underscored both countries' commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing collaboration in emerging technologies and global standards development.
