Farzaneh Ansari, President of Iran National Standards Organization (INSO), has departed for India to participate in the Meeting of Heads of BRICS National Standards Bodies, which will be held in Bengaluru on July 16–17.
The annual meeting is the highest-level forum for cooperation among the national standards bodies of BRICS member states. It brings together heads and senior officials to strengthen technical collaboration and enhance coordination in the fields of standardization, conformity assessment, and quality infrastructure.
Participants are expected to discuss a range of key issues, including the signing of the BRICS Memorandum of Understanding on Standardization, implementation mechanisms for the agreement, the Bengaluru Meeting Declaration, and future areas of cooperation among member countries.
During the event, Dr. Ansari is scheduled to deliver a speech highlighting Iran's perspectives on international standardization and technical cooperation. She will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with her counterparts from BRICS member states to advance bilateral cooperation documents and present Iran's proposals on topics such as strategic foresight in standardization and the expansion of technical collaboration.
The participation of the Iranian delegation is expected to further strengthen technical and professional engagement with BRICS member countries and promote international cooperation in the areas of standardization, conformity assessment, quality infrastructure, and the implementation of joint initiatives within the BRICS framework.
