INSO and GOST R Expand Technical Cooperation on Standards at BRICS Meeting
The Iran National Standards Organization (INSO) and the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (GOST R) agreed to strengthen technical cooperation in standardization during bilateral talks held on the sidelines of the Meeting of Heads of BRICS National Standardization Bodies.
Dr. Ansari, INSO President, met with Anton Shalaev, CEO of GOST R, to review ongoing cooperation and identify new areas for collaboration.
The two sides agreed to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, metrology, conformity assessment, training, and international standardization. They also discussed closer collaboration on automotive standards, including electric vehicles, advanced driver-assistance systems, battery safety, and automotive cybersecurity.
Iran and Russia agreed to reactivate their joint metrology working group, enhance expert exchanges and training programs, and finalize a bilateral roadmap for cooperation in the automotive sector within the next two months.
The meeting reaffirmed both countries' commitment to advancing technical collaboration and strengthening their role in international standards development.
