The Heads of BRICS National Standardization Bodies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of Standardization on the sidelines of the Meeting of Heads of BRICS National Standardization Bodies in Bengaluru.
The MoU establishes a framework for expanding multilateral cooperation in standardization, strengthening technical collaboration, promoting information and knowledge exchange, implementing joint projects, enhancing professional capacity, and increasing participation in international standardization activities.
Under the agreement, BRICS members will cooperate in areas including the development of common standards, conformity assessment, knowledge sharing, technical workshops, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and green economy standards.
The agreement is expected to strengthen technical cooperation among BRICS members and support the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at advancing international standardization and reducing technical barriers to trade.
